Framed origami butterflies

Its been a while since I have had the urge to play origami.  A little magazine with coordinating paper was poking out at me this morning while I was tidying up. The house work stopped completely in its tracks and off I ran to play...

I have had these frames laying around to scrapbbok with kids school photos forever. Well everything is so very digital nowadays I just thought make something with this and gift it away... so here is the final project. I love it.

Now back to cleaning up.

My second card...and it was such a huge challenge to case a card when you don't have the same stamps. But I really think this one worked for me, I love it...

AND of course one, has to have a box, to match loved card...Don't you think?

NEW CATALOGUE

Yay the new Catalogue is here now...woohooo...

You can click on the side picture and it will take you there to view online straight away...yippee.

I had an excellent day out with all the lovely ladies...

I had a little competition on my table and I loved making all the scallop projects for it...Unfortunately I gave some of them away before I got some photos. 

But nevertheless here is one I have taken, This is the door prize taggie and an instructional  picture, for you to do for yourself...I've had a lot of interest and thought I would share with you...have fun...





















The choice of retired DSP was perfect...You really do need the contrasting paper to make it stand out. Punch out 4 scallops. Cut in half. Fold a third along the cut edge, and then in half again and again forwards and backwards, see photo above. Attach to coordinating card stock circle and poke a hole through the middle for the brad. I found a brad worked best and I also snipped the points off the end.

I found and angel on pinterest and tried to replicate it without a beaded head...lollipop worked..lol

Again I have used up retired DSP to make some flowers and a boy themed card  Cased from Alison Barclay...Loved the pinpricking so to speak...and then I did find a little cupcake pincushion to add to my cupcake holder...all in fun...

Happy Birthday card Floral District

At first I wasn't too sure of these colours. But they are growing on me as I use them...
A little card with a handmade envelope to match...I used my new diagonal scoring board ad loved making the little buttons for the card...with matching string for closure...

And a bunch of flowers to boot....

Christmas Bells

"Christmas Bells"

I have cut squares and folded the bell into the origami lily and turned it upside down. love love love it...

The paper used in these particular bells are: "Be of Good Cheer" from the Annual Catalogue, page 164, code 126896 cost $18.95 for 12 sheets of 6 designs of double sided paper.

AND my own ribbon and bells.

I just have started a new skirt I wanted to wear for christmas, but didn't. Hopefully get up to photo stage tomorrow...I am to sewing it up tonight after planting some spuds...We broke the tractor and again are a little bit late in planting them. Oh well. I have to keep telling myself I am not a superwoman, as much I'd like to be...I am also in the middle of making rhubarb cordial and stewing it right now...yummmo. Washed bottles ready for sterilising and filling. Hope it works...anyways a few pics of late...
Here's a little of what I have achieved in the last few months leading upto christmas.
I am so ready for a play with my kids, with my new wetsuit...woohoo. But no photos of me yet. Giggle. I am always behind the camera....

There were more pics to come but pooter is soo slow...

Just got called outside, and What are you looking at  !!!!....

ohhh  wow. A first in our back yard....

It crawled into a pallet and then we had to remove him to the paddock and he finally escaped us...what a lovely surprise...Hubby said it the was the biggest he ever has seen...

Anyways back to it, what was it I was doing...oh planted the spuds now and this a progression of my day I guess. The paddock above is where we planted them... Now the sprinkler on in the dark.

And we had flathead and abalone with salad and plum marinaded chicken for tea...wooohooo, v lovely.

Getn late now, Havn fun. Be good. And have a lovely start to the new year. I will get pics up again soon maybe...cheers Tamsin

What are you upto?

Hi all

Thankyou beautiful nellie put the kettle on, gorgeous friend of mine, for the lovely banner...That I intend to pull out every birthday, girls and mine...I love it...

And thankyou to my mum and my sis and my dad...for a wonderful party....and everyone else...

I have just packed up all my craft things out of my house, so I could sleep on my floor inside...I have just had a huge party and am still in party mode, hence no craft being made...I had to move out all my stuff, to fit in my family. We had a huge beautiful time together and mum worked so hard. Good on ya mum. I am very appreciated. Well, whats next?

Well...  Bring all my craft back inside....lol. Thats if I don't get a job...(I hope to soon, oooh soo excited...)
Slowly but surely making a small dent into bringing it back and making a mess while I am at it. The house looked so neat and tidy, but so unloved...
Back to making paper flowers and  flower balls As a request I am trying something a little different. I will update this post with pics when I start them..., still finding all my bits...

I also have a few new ideas I have seen in blogland and through googling I would love to "have a go". But dealing with sick kids, broken dryer in this wet weather is not helping.

Butterflies

Heres something that i have wanted to do for months but just haven't worked it out. I nearly did one morning, all the kids off to school and I practiced for an hour. Just not getting there... So I googled and found exactly what I was looking for (for a change).... wow today is good so far...
The tutorial for the origami butterfly is so gorgeous.

And heres my example...

I love it...I folded it our of leather and applied it to a hair clip
I had to have another go out of paper, being much easier to fold...
for the girls bedroom maybe.

and then absolutley had to have a go at the other butterflies. Which i also adore... I had some gorgeous paper also for my girls...

to market, to market

My friend Lynelle Miller and I went to the Made with Love Bazaar Market.

It was really lovely to meet everyone and a few from bloggers land. Lovely to meet you all.

We did ok and will try and go again in the next month... We had to wear vintage aprons, that was fun.
The next time our stall won't be sooo crowded. Refine our stall table and our market so to speak.
Smaller cheaper things sell very well, we have decided. People don't like spending BIG money at "markets".
The next one will be 14th May. Lets get folding.
Here are the flowers I took along. They did well too.

These flowers I have made for my sister's wedding bouquet. I just love them. I think I will change the red velvet ribbon to a wide black satin.

My week of completions...

This week I completed a few things yay...
But first this is a pic of a little upcycled bag with outside pocket and raggy plaited handle. Jess loves it to store her DS. We made this at her girlfriends house.

A pair of new booties knitted and felted, long time taken. This is the pattern I made for a pair of booties awhile ago and through the felting process, they went haywire. I threw them away when they went out of shape. But this wool worked. The brown booties I sewed together with blanket stitch and beautiful green thread. Love these too. It took longer to sew up than I expected, but was worth the effort.

Another little love of paper, I made for me. I was thinking of selling this one but, I love it too much...

Photos don't do it justice, or I am just a horrible photographer, lol.

and another thing I had put away because I didn't know what to do with it. The girls were beading necklaces over the weekend and I thought "that's it". A necklace made out of paper in a choker style. Not to be worn on wet days.

A little cute birdy I knitted from scraps after I completed the little shoulder bag. Pictured below.

Another horse with matching card.

The shoulder bag I knitted with three strands of different wool - stash busting. I designed and knitted as I went along. Very exciting when I put it together and it worked. I embellished with a five petal knitted flower too.

And one more thing I had put away was this. A five intersecting tetrahedra. I couldn't resist finishing it on Friday while Bo was making paper chains at the table. I was supposed to be tidying the house. But it took my fancy to complete it...Took me 3 hours to put in the last two tetrahedras. Again, so much for house work.
