UFO's update from start of last year...

Hi all.
And how was your last year. Mine was great.
I finished ONE object from my UFO list i made at the start of the year. Well actually I didn't really finish it, a good friend of mine did. lol.

This is a list of things i would like to finish:

1 hot water bottle for Jess.

2 a little reindeer

3 santa stocking for my newest nephew

4 a red knitted cable bag for me

5 a wizard x-stitch on black i have had for years

6 a tapestry of the creswick mine - that my sister started

7 knit myself a jacket - i have two started

8 clean my room

9 start and complete my dream to have a second lampshade in the lounge room.

10 that will do for now...   omgosh.

And the only object I finished was number five...
Here it is framed. I love it for my Boys room.
 

Cheers now onto a another list of ufo's, I guess it wont change much. lol or it will take me ten years to finish them all...love ya tam.

I just have started a new skirt I wanted to wear for christmas, but didn't. Hopefully get up to photo stage tomorrow...I am to sewing it up tonight after planting some spuds...We broke the tractor and again are a little bit late in planting them. Oh well. I have to keep telling myself I am not a superwoman, as much I'd like to be...I am also in the middle of making rhubarb cordial and stewing it right now...yummmo. Washed bottles ready for sterilising and filling. Hope it works...anyways a few pics of late...
Here's a little of what I have achieved in the last few months leading upto christmas.
I am so ready for a play with my kids, with my new wetsuit...woohoo. But no photos of me yet. Giggle. I am always behind the camera....

Just got called outside, and What are you looking at  !!!!....

ohhh  wow. A first in our back yard....

It crawled into a pallet and then we had to remove him to the paddock and he finally escaped us...what a lovely surprise...Hubby said it the was the biggest he ever has seen...

Anyways back to it, what was it I was doing...oh planted the spuds now and this a progression of my day I guess. The paddock above is where we planted them... Now the sprinkler on in the dark.

And we had flathead and abalone with salad and plum marinaded chicken for tea...wooohooo, v lovely.

goose egg - just one

We were so lucky (apparently they are quite rare) to be given some goose eggs to try. They are quite enormous compared to our chickens. So I went googling for recipes and found one for brownies...We have yet to try it, but it sounds delicious.. We made homemade pasta instead.
We measured the weight of the egg, just out of interest, and then added 300g of 0000 flour. The pasta recipe I use is 5 eggs to 500g flour. And a normal egg size is 60g, sooo the goose egg, as I read as well, is nearly 3 times the size of a chickens egg....
We processed the egg and flour together, (I'm a little bit lazy and have machines to do the work, so to speak) and pulled it out as a crumbly mixture. You could add water or oil or flavours, we don't, and then put handfuls through the roller a few times. Then we make it into thin pasta sheets. We dry it over the clothes horse until it starts to fall onto the floor. (only when you bump it) And then cook it in boiling water to add in layers to the lasagne.

This amount of pasta will do two meals for us and I will put the other half in the freezer. I also make the sauce the night before too, to cut down on time spent in kitchen... Heres some pics to show you...have fun. yummmooo.

What are you upto?

Hi all

Thankyou beautiful nellie put the kettle on, gorgeous friend of mine, for the lovely banner...That I intend to pull out every birthday, girls and mine...I love it...

And thankyou to my mum and my sis and my dad...for a wonderful party....and everyone else...

I have just packed up all my craft things out of my house, so I could sleep on my floor inside...I have just had a huge party and am still in party mode, hence no craft being made...I had to move out all my stuff, to fit in my family. We had a huge beautiful time together and mum worked so hard. Good on ya mum. I am very appreciated. Well, whats next?

Well...  Bring all my craft back inside....lol. Thats if I don't get a job...(I hope to soon, oooh soo excited...)
Slowly but surely making a small dent into bringing it back and making a mess while I am at it. The house looked so neat and tidy, but so unloved...
Back to making paper flowers and  flower balls As a request I am trying something a little different. I will update this post with pics when I start them..., still finding all my bits...

I also have a few new ideas I have seen in blogland and through googling I would love to "have a go". But dealing with sick kids, broken dryer in this wet weather is not helping.

Paper Dress and Mask Competition at the Makers Workshop Burnie

I really wanted to do something BIG. Thanks to my family and friends, we pulled this out of envelopes I had been collecting for "SOMETHING..."
I decided to have a go only last Friday and we did this in two days after 3 days of mucking around with paper.

Well done girls. It was stressfully FUN. and we think its the best...We have called the dress AUTUMN, as our Autumn nears end. Tinkerbell was our inspiration with our blue green envelopes and we all "Believe in Fairies".

And all the while I was dreaming up this mask and finally got it in as well... woohooo...

We are all exhausted from the excitement and fun.

Butterflies

Heres something that i have wanted to do for months but just haven't worked it out. I nearly did one morning, all the kids off to school and I practiced for an hour. Just not getting there... So I googled and found exactly what I was looking for (for a change).... wow today is good so far...
The tutorial for the origami butterfly is so gorgeous.

And heres my example...

I love it...I folded it our of leather and applied it to a hair clip
I had to have another go out of paper, being much easier to fold...
for the girls bedroom maybe.

and then absolutley had to have a go at the other butterflies. Which i also adore... I had some gorgeous paper also for my girls...

Antique windows

I have finished, soldered, puttied and polished the antique windows to go into a bedroom. They match the rest of the house now, instead of painted yellow glass. The owner is very happy after waiting for 22 years to be replaced and now she is selling. I used my old antique blue glass and crinkle to match existing windows.

 And here they are installed. They look fabulous and have brightened the room immensely...
