We have picked a huge amount from a friends place in Gunns Plains. Dried a lot to make a chocolate brownie slice throughout the winter, as well as for cocoa balls. We have eaten a lot fresh and will make jam out of the rest.
I have always wanted to make my own Worcestershire sauce and have followed a Recipe from Sally Wise's website. here
Like she says it smells amazing while cooking....
The garlic, ginger, cloves let alone the brown malt vinegar. amazing...
I think most dark skinned plums would work for this recipe...I'd really like to try out dark fleshy ones next year. Since pruning we haven't got as many plums this year, but we are learning.
I started this post on the weekend and made another batch today. I've made beef stroganoff for tea tonight and have used only two tablespoons of sauce. I must say it tastes amazing. No need for beef stock, and it is so much thicker and richer than the bought one. This will definitely be on my yearly processing recipe list. Yummo. Have fun looking around and if you need anything just holler. Email me here for more enquiries
