My photo essay

Another unit of study completed online with Unitas. There are so many ways to learn.
Here is my photo essay.

After the long 4 hour drive to our shack the night before, our sleep in was rudely interrupted.
A squeal of excitement ripples through me. "Mum, C'mon get up”, she said, “Let's paint already.“
Scrabbling and rolling over to snuggle and hide under the doona, I wished we were on holidays.
Dragging ourselves out of bed and dressing in old clothes to the aroma of freshly made coffee.
Being woken so early to a beautiful sunshiny day, made us feel a little less dead.
There was only one thing to do and no time for our usual barbecued bacon and eggs.
Singing along loudly to keep that hand dipping and slapping.
The money he earns, helps his dreams of owning a computer a little less distant.
We'd rather be fishing on this windless holiday like day..
Five hundred steps shows on her fitbit already.
What a fantastic effort for this little early morning squealer.
She’s certainly a mover and not afraid of the disturbed bats flying out of the walls.

Shaping this family, together with strength and love.
While husband climbs the ladder to fix and paint the highest parts, I keep the peace between the cranky kids.
No winds and blue sky, allowing us to dream of beautiful fishing holidays to come.

How little time we have, and to be able to create more work for ourselves.
What am I thinking, are we crazy, I look back and dream of changing the door colour already.
We haven’t even finished painting the first coat yet.

Collapsing onto the couch exhausted, the husband that never stops, adds the finishing touches.
This weekend here in our little shack leaves us no time for a little fish or gathering of oysters.
We do not look forward to coming back to paint again.

“Yippee”, we scream. “Well look at that”, said the husband, “we totally missed that bit above the roof”.
I really just want to go home now, missing my third child of mine, left at home for a party.

Feeling a little elated that we had actually started this challenge and we were home free.
Painting the family holiday shack was an exciting adventure.
Until next time little house when we shall do it all over again, maybe, just maybe, one coat will do.

Have fun looking around and if you need anything else just holler.

Oh So Succulents

Oh how I love this set. Available in the new Occassions Catalogue. I can't wait to gift this project to a beautiful friend of mine. She is going to love it. I also absolutely adore the little dragonfly. She is another "Craft Ya Guts Out" girly.

All made with Stampin' Up! product, except for the littlest round rosettes. My husbands response was oh so lovely... "Oh my God" he said. I loved it.

So here you go:

Don't you just love it. I haven't added a hanging ribbon yet, but I think I will leave that up to do tonight when I gift it to my girlfriend.

Isn't it just  so cute.

I adore the dragonfly too.

Fathers Day watercolour

I totally forgot to show you the Father's Day card I'd made for a card swap and one for me.

I totally love the watercolour technique, and I haven't used it often enough.

Here it is, just a really quick post to show the card really. Paint with water and ink onto watercolour card and then using Bigshot cut out letters, with large letter thinlits and raise onto mount with dimensionals...too easy.

The Artful Stampers -Team Challenge Blog Hop - Challenge #102

You may have come from the lovely Artful Stamper: Mercia

Is Christmas in the air yet?? Sure is getting that way here with our card and box making.

Check out these cards.
This was my first and quite ugly card. I really didn't like the yellow on the green background. So I made another. I do love the Thoughful Branches set though, and instead of stamping the petals onto the flower/tree head I'd sponged it over, tone on tone. I think the stamp would have been a better look.

And here is the same card, different colour way, I like it much better... I need to have a little more practice and colour coding I think...Or the MOJO just didn't want to play today...

I may add an MDS to this post yet... I'll keep you updated.
Here you go... I couldn't help myself :) I am Happy now, just another Bali pic :)

The Artful Stampers -Team Challenge Blog Hop - Challenge #101

You may have come from the lovely Artful Stamper : Mercia Poree

I bought the little Merry Tag framelits and in the matching bundle the merriest wishes stamp set. It is all so cute. I also had the little mini treat boxes from last year to attach my taggie to. I will make a larger box eventually and place many tags into the box as gifts.

I cut the base out for tag to be written on and the top 3 times with the different coloured cardstocks. Whisper White, Emerald Envy and Crumb Cake. I also added an extra coloured layer at the back from an old Christmas Stack of DSP to give it strength. Tied it off with a little glitter twine from the tin of tags. I love, very simple and cute to boot.

AND I also loved the tin of tags and had a play with those too. Again I will have to get out my gift box punch board and make a larger box to store them in. I do want to use the tin for the storage of my homemade tea. I love it all...

Baby gifts

So many gorgeous do it yourself projects on the Internet. I thought I'd share a few I have made recently for all the little people I know. Baby gifts for our growing families...

Little Tissue Holders for the sneezles. We have had so many this year.

Baby crown oh so cute for the little people.

Baby crochet blanket. I have used the Corner to Corner designs here with a scallop edging.

Another baby crochet blanket the zigzag pattern. An easy pattern when you get the hang of it.

Like baby like Brother. Matching beanies one fitting, one smooth slouch style

Baby gumboots were the cutest ever.

AND When your day is dull, crochet a pair of rainbow boots.

Don't you just love the fox. This is my second attempt at getting him right.
Washi butterfly as inspired from Pinterest
And took the washi onboard for a baby card.
