Honey Beeswax Lip Balm

A little something I have wanted to try since my babe Zane wanted to keep bees. We harvested our first batch of honey last weekend and have drained the cappings.

I have used one heaped desert spoon of honey covered cappings, the same amount of coconut oil. Apparently from my little research you need another softer oil, and I had some on hand. I also used a teaspoon of rice bran oil, containing vitamin E oil naturally and a teaspoon of honey.

Threw it all into my little steel milk jug and popped onto my wood heater. I love spearmint oil so I popped in 5 drops as well...Waiting for it to cool, I dipped my finger in the milk just and rubbed onto my lips already. Yummo. I love it...AND to know that it is all "organic" as it says so on some of the labels...

RECIPE:
1 heaped dessertspoon of honey covered bees cappings
1 heaped dessertspoon organic coconut oil
1 teaspoon organic rice bran oil
1 teaspoon honey drippings (from the cappings) yuummm
5 drops of my fave essential oil Spearmint

Warm it up to melting point for Beeswax, very carefully and stir lots.
Pour into your lip balm container. Mine was a reused lemon tea tin.

And it will be awesome to use on a Saturday mornings watching the girls play winter hockey...

Have fun looking around and if you need anything just holler. Email me here for more enquiries
